“I was always trying to sell products but I was always making a point” - George Lois

Years ago, watching the documentary “Art & Copy” made me fall in love with advertising. George Lois’s perspective on advertising really stuck with me, and I always try my best to follow that. His idea of advertising was not just being creative to grab attention but to grab at the heart because what he was doing was changing the culture. He was trying to sell products while making a point, making a statement about what he thinks life should be about.
When I was writing for this campaign to promote our latest advanced feature on our security cameras, I saw a parallel. This was not just a product launch campaign, but an idea platform designed to serve the brand for a longer game.
The new technology allows the cameras to have a hybrid view, combining a wide-angle static view with a constant moving view that can follow figures and capture clear details. This is the opposite of the past, where you had to choose between a bullet cam that provided a wide-angle view and a PTZ cam that could constantly move, capturing movements and details. This is a game-changer tech that combines both bullet cam and PTZ cam in one without any compromises.
Then I thought: What benefits does this bring to our consumers? Why would they need that? What role does our brand play in our consumers' lives? Is there a possibility that we can convey a message to make a point and make it a better world? It’s all because our brand, eufy, cares about people and the society that we’re living in.
The ultimate product benefit is that we eliminate blind spots in our security, and our consumers enjoy the peace of mind that comes with having no gaps or doubt in their home security products.
We swim in an ocean of information every day. Clickbait content is grabbing all our attention, and much of it is even trying to provoke emotions and toxic discussions for high-volume data traffic. What we lack these days is the ability to see the full picture, a critical thinking mindset to see things from different perspectives.
I then connected the dots and wrote the script for this video.
I’m trying to sell our tech and the product to our consumers while sending a little reminder: we should always try to see the full picture before making any assumptions. With a little help from technology, or simply by adopting the right mindset, we can reframe a new perspective.
